FS: XL Green S. Gigantea

xtlosx

Just Reefin'
So it's time to sell my Gaddoni... So this guy has S. Gigantea and S. Haddoni blood in him. Full inflated this guy is probably 12-14", and half of the time looks like a shaggy gig, and the other time he looks like a haddoni (minus the bulbous tentacles), they are tapered like a Gigs. He's too haddoni for me, and needs a new home.

Pictures below. I'm looking for $175 OBO for him as he has been with me for over a year and is healthy, not QT needed. His large foot is anchored to my glass, and when I find someone interested, I will get it off... I have a feeling it will take a bit of careful work.

Pictures below. Thanks!

he is clearly a Gigantea. Goodluck with selling him.

Oh he is, he just has the appetite of a Haddoni, and the grasp.. It pains me to sell him since he's such a unique animal.

It's nice to see you stalking any local club forum where someone is selling a Gigantea Minh.. :-)

So is this actually a hybrid? That would be pretty sweet!

From all indications that we have in identification, yes.. Clearly has purple verracue that is very visible, tapered tentacles not bulbous, and when it was to they are shaggy and gig like. When he wants to he folds like a haddoni, and eats fish, mexican turbos, and everything else in the area like a haddoni but doesn't have the haddoni lipstick around his mouth.

This guy is truly a gem, and wish I had another tank to put him in...

There are several Green Carpet anemones that is like xtlosx's anemone. I have one just like this also. Clearly, IMO, my anemone have both characteristic of Gigantea and Haddoni. More Gigantea than Haddoni. I don't have DNA evidence that they are hybrid but I would be very surprise if we send them for DNA ID and find that they are not hybrid.

Mine anemone below, this guy is not for sale

Very interesting guys. I almost wonder if it is not a hybrid but an entirely new species all together. Get on that DNA thing!

I truly wish I had a bigger tank just for this. I don't even think it would work when I upgrade to my 60 cube. :(

It would if you didn't feed it like I have for the past year, and make it a species tank..... If you feed it like I have, it quadrupled in size in barely a year. Whoops :)

Its truly a gorgeous specimen :D sad to see you let her go after all the hard work you put forth..

I debated selling my purple, but I just cant let it go... I think I will keep it until I or him pass... as well as the clowns in it.

Thanks Robbie... It's def a rough decision but he needs a new home. I would like a pure S. Gigantea with zero haddoni characteristics and really feel this guy needs to be in a species tank that's suited for'em. This means I can resume at some point, my hunt for a pure green or pure blue Gigantea.
