I cleaned out my aquarium storage cabinet & forgot about a Coralife light I had with burnt out bulbs. I have cheato growing in my fuge & this light takes 12 inch T5 bulbs, 1 actinic & 1 10,000k.....The bulbs have double pins at each end. Are there bulbs I can buy for it that would work good to grow cheato? I know I could get a reflector light & bulb from Home depot but since I have this fixture I would really like to use it.

+1.....macro needs more in the red green spectrum. 10k is way to white blue. I've had good success all the way down to around 3000k Your average 26watt spiral power compact bulb and a clamp light quite frankly is your best bet. Bang for the buck wise.

i actually changed my cfl out about two weeks ago for a 6500k led 10watt spot i got frm home depo and im getting more growth and less watts

you can get 6500 k and grow lite bulbs fr that fixture at home depo as well
Darn, I just ordered 4 6500k's from top bulb...They were only $1.47 each but shipping was $9 but no sales tax...I should have read your post first, didn't know Home Depot sold them for that fixture....Oh well, I got my 6500's and 2 extras to spare...They are only 6 watts each so very efficient & they fit my light which I plan to Velcro to the side of the fuge so it doesn't get full of salt.....

I would just scrap the whole light and get an LED grow bulb.
CFLs have to be replaced every 3 months... T5 what once a year?

$30 buys me about 15 T5's (including shipping!!!) I think I will keep my light!!! And being replaced only once a year is SWEET!!!

If you're worried about saving $30 then I guess but a dedicated grow light will grow the macro much better.

Thank you. It grows like crazy. I use (2) 3300k 26 watt cfl. I have to trim it almost weekly. Sometimes every other. Less often with new GFO and Carbon. I keep looking at the par 38 leds too! Just seems cool to me some how.
