I got a female mandarin plainly named "Lassie" and a male named "Ao Shun" after the Dragon King of the North Sea in Chinese mythology.
For a while I also had a fighting conch named "Major Snigelsworth", Snigel being the Swedish word for snail, lol.

Porcupine puffer in my first tank years ago was named Fatboy (although my work colleague -- the tank was at my office then -- insisted on calling him Max)

Small tank now has some watchmen gobies and had lawnmower blennie or two over the years. My daughters named one of them Tata -- I really don't know who got that moniker.

I think my favorite, though, is Quick Jake, which my daughters named a falco hawkfish. (He was a little too quick and swam himself right out of the tank one day........ I found him on the floor behind the tank but never admitted that to the girls......)

My wife likes to name our fish and can be quite clever.

My favorite is the name given to our Kole Tang,....Roscoe, full name-Roscoe P. Kole Tang.
Not sure how many will get the reference?:lolspin:

My boys named our zebra eel Toothless after How to Train Your Dragon. At the time they didn't care that our eel actually had teeth. Many years later they still don't care despite knowing otherwise.

When I had my 3 pajama cardinals they were names Jerry, George and Kramer. I knew which one was Jerry because he was the boss of the pack. But I couldn't tell the other two apart.

My dart fish for some reason the wife named after her brother. Maybe because we'd see it for a day and then not for two days.

My fishers angelfish was named jackass. Because, well... you can figure it out. But he didn't last long and went back to the store.

I forgot what I named my current two clowns were called but that's ok because my 2 year old just calls them both Nemo.
