FYI-a guy listing a boatload of zoanthids on another forum for trade.Heres what I got shipped.

5 frags stuffed in a coffee cup in about a double shotglass of water.A regular hand warmer for a heat pack ,whitch we all know doesn't ever last 8 hrs and the only packing material was a 4" scrap sigle piece of bubblewrap.Coffee cup was also placed in the shipping box 5"x5"x5" sideways.Shipped priority and took 3 days to get to me from Jersey.Lastly, the polyp counts were short on 2 of the five frags, and by short I mean 15 polyps frag showed up as 8.

I have much more detailed pics, but I dont see the need to post them here.My intent is only to inform someone else about this seller /trader practices nothing more.

Bummer Steve. I've met and dealt with people on RC for years. 99% are good people. But I've been burned too. Its that 1% that STINKS!, that create a little doubt towards the good folks. Sorry for your troubles and taking the high road by not bashing by name openly. Thanks for the heads up.

I really dont know if they will or not. They dont look good at all.I got them in the tank fri night and none have showed any sign of opening. Most have a bubble like appearence covering the polyps.

Not really sure how to handle it from here other than cut my loses. All the stuff i sent him as a trade he stated showed up fine, that is until I recieved his package and complained. At that point he says one of my chalices suddenly died 3 days after he got it.Wants it replaced now.

Trouble ...just seems to find me for some reason.

Your best bet Steve is to deal with him through PM's for now. Ask for a picture of the Chalice that died and see if he put it in his system in a proper place under proper lighting, etc. etc.

If shipping was priority and took three days was it the sellers fault or the shipper? If it was the shippers fault I would take it up with the company and see what you can do. The companies fight like crazy to keep their $25 but it's worth a try.

I am very sorry to see you had bad luck with this person. Like Mark said, many people are really good with trading but there are the people who for some reason haven't a CLUE what they are doing. A coffee mug....really?

Mike,I understand that part of it and have been in pm with him.Honestly I dont see myself publicly bashing someone, but how long is a trader/seller supposed to warranty a live shipment? I dont think I'd trust him to be honest about it from this point,it seems suspect to me it died after I complained about the condition of the polyps and I sent him pics immediately.Nothing from him prior.

I believe it was the sellers fault. The agreement was we would both ship express guarnteed by noon the next day.He shipped priority.According to USPS shipping priority is defined as "usually in 2 days or less"

Yeah really, and it didnt bother me as much until he want ed chalice replaced.I didnt even get full polyp counts to start with.I sent extras on top of it.
Im refusing to replace the chalice at this point.
