Galaxia Not Feeding

I have a big piese of Galaxia. For a couple of months now I would see one maybe two of the sweepers coming out. Now nothing..

All paramertes are perfect.

LED lighinf. Coral is on the bottom...

When I see this coral in stores there are dozens of sweepers. Should i move it up higher?

As long as it looks good I would just leave it alone. Sweepers are not always an indication that the coral is hungry, there also a defense mechanism. Galaxea corals are notorious for being very territorial. If your not seeing sweepers on a regular basis then maybe the coral likes where it's at.

maybe thats it. most of the ones in stores have other corals very close...

Sweepers are used for battle, not feeding. Lack of them is a good thing. My Galaxea is very near a few corals and has been exceptionally well behaved for the last few months and I hope it stays that way.

My little galaxia is being a jerk. I know the sweepers are fun, but these are long enough to be nothing but a dangerous nuisance.

Haha, you're looking at almost 7" of death-baby! I can't find a good place to call his permanent home.

I wouldn't worry about yours not putting out sweepers. I'm sure it will once it decides it is in the mood to grow. Have you tried feeding it a small amount of mysis shrimp, first rinsed in RO water, and then soaked in saltwater?

I always give it a blast when I am target feeding...

mine will eat small mysis sometimes. i don't feed them that often though, i don't think its necessary.

those sweepers are for battle the feeding tentacles on the galaxie are fat and half the size of the sweepers.i have mine in direct very high current and it is thriving the current is so strong he cant use his sweepers or they will rip off butt he still catches mysis all the time and munches them down.i wouldnt suggest high current in a stocked tank cause if its just high current not blasting like mine they will grow huge sweepers .if i8ts not showing the long sweepers means he is comfortable for now and not needing to sting his way more space .try to mince up some mysis and add some oyster fiest to it and squirt it all over him he should chow it down
