Game Night!!!

Jeff are you sure that you are OK to play with the big boys?
Only kidding it will be great to see you again.

Game night?

Game night?

OK,
To all you card players out there that is going to make it to game night @Steves, Do we have set rules? Should I bring quarters. Are we doing a limitand are we going to do a buy in and how much? So for those that play on a weekly game please post with some info. Are we going to use chips or coins?
See you all there.
Ade

My opinion for what it is worth is leave your change at home, use chips they are less confusing and it makes it easier to tell when the pots right.

our games usually use white (DIME CHIPS) and colored (Quarter Chips), Buy in with $10 to start and buy from or sell to other players as needed

we usually go by three raises max with 50 cent limit, except for special games like texas holdem, omaha or whatever the dealer wants to make the limit for the hand

I am open to whatever the crowd wants as far as limits go but if stakes are too low every one stays in and it is just luck not poker.

Theese stakes usually result in no-one loosing more than $20-25
in a good 6 hrs or so, some may loose quick and call it quits. Most people usually end up even + or - $10 but it really depends on the cards hence gambling

OK, thanks Jorge. So to the next ? does anyone have chips we could use, I think that Steve will need the use of chips for the day.
Do we have enough for poker? How many players do we need?
Sorry for all the ?,s the last time I played poker was strip when I was a lot younger and there was some good looking girls there then. I am not going there with you guy's. LOL
6 hrs game. Steve I think that I am going to have to crash.

6 hrs is long (my group only plays 4 or 5 times a year) usually people sit in a while then drop out and maybe come back in again depending how the night is going. when you are hot you dont want to quit. the host usually determines when last hand is or sets a quit time up front, or sometimes people have to hit the road and you run short on players.

It usually is more about a good fun time and laughs than money

NBmaxx said in an earlier post he would bring poker table top and chips so if he shows we have that covered. We do need a head count (need at least 5 for a decent game up to 7 at a time for seven card games.) if more show up people usually drop out like I said earlier, if its not your night you just need to quit

Head count for poker needed

Yeah i've got the chips and table top ... I say we bring money and buy in for chips ... it makes it easier and just keeps things moving along much better... My opinion is Texas hold em ... We could play tournaments w/ a set buy in , and once that one ends start a new one , if we raise the blinds semi-quickly they will go fast and be fun ... or we could also play a cash -game where you can buy -in for a minimum amount ... say $10 and do nickel dime blinds ... this will keep most people in there for a while ..... My 2 cents....

I also have 2 guys that I play w/ weekly who would like to join if it is okay w/ Steve ... They are co-workers and good guys to boot ... allthough I probably will spend most of the night trying to just beat them ...lol

and ... yeah about how long we play is basically up to Steve ..I'll play as long as anybody else feels like taking my money .... I sometimes will play clear into the next day so feel free to kick me out or you may find me red eyed and chipless ....

You can stay all night. I am not working the next day so play as long as we like. Bring your two guys. That's fine by me. Do they drink. I have to empty that keg you know.

steve

doesn't sound like a lot of poker players so I will bring one from work also, if we end up with to many there is allways the pool table a xbox

Thanks to everyone for coming.

If anyone is up for some more fun we can have another game night on feb 9 or 23. those are the weekends I am not on call for work.

Thanks Steve for all that you did. It is always good to see you all even if it isn't for a reef meeting. I would also like to say thanks to all that played cards, I haven't had that much fun in a long time. I know that sad, win or loose I would do it again in a heart beat. Eric thank your friend Joe for all the help.
