Garden of the Sea - Was Front Range Aquatics

I saw a couple of cars parked out front yesterday, but no signage turned on. I am really looking forward to them opening, I hope he can make it work out.

Figured I'd bump this in case anyone has heard anything else. Starting to feel more and more like it won't happen. What a bummer.

It is right by my house so I drive by a fair bit. There is NO activity there. Nothing. The lights seem to still be on at night, but nothing else.

I think you are right and it will not happen. Bummer.

It's pretty close to my house as well, but I never drive down around there. I've been "tempted" to stop by because it used to look like there was a sign on the door. But I figured by now if it was gonna open, it would have opened. I mean, this is going on 2-3 months now. If it does open, I'd imagine it won't last long due to the fact that he's got to already be in the hole expense wise.

I have heard rumors from a few sources I trust that they will not be opening and plan on staying a online dealer on ebay, etc.

And then there is Deep Seize which seems to be gonzo as well.

Man, seems like a lot of wasted money, effort and time to just never open. That's a shame.

And I couldn't care less about Deep Seize if they closed. I went in there once, spent about 2-3 minutes in there and quickly walked out. I told myself that I'd never go in there again. Too bad, it used to be a good freshwater store before it was taken over.

Milhouse, did you see the flatworm collection at deep seize? that is impressive. i dont think i have ever been to a fish store that cared any less than they do. it is a shame. the potential is there-what happened?

I went in there once and it smelled like smoke. A fish store. Smelling like smoke. Really? I walked in a little further, saw a couple of empty tanks and then I just left. Smoke!!! True story, lol.

What do you mean? Like cigarette smoke?

Yeah, of the cigarette variety. It was a video game store too(please, don't ask, lol). I'm not sure if the people that worked there smoked in the store....perhaps after hours?....or if it was just the used games they sold smelled of smoke. Dunno. Either way, it was a weird moment when I walked in there. And trust me, I've been to a ton of fish stores in my lifetime. This was the second worst(the worst was actually up in your neck of the woods. Used to be an old store on Pershing. Not sure if it's still there).

Sign at Garden of the Sea

Sign at Garden of the Sea

I stopped by Garden of the Sea and took a snap of the sign on the door.

That's exactly the one I was thinking about when you were talking about smoky establishments. I walked in there once and never returned.

Like I said earlier, it looked like there has been a sign up there for a while. I just never had the time to stop by and see what it says. So I kinda wonder how long that sign has been up there. A month? Two? Who knows. Not sure what could be holding them up this long.

The sign has been up all summer. A thread on the masc site says that the owner has thrown in the towel and is moving everything to Longmont. Look on the MASC site for details. I am not sure if I can post a link there so look in "Community Info" for a thread called New LFS in the Fort.
