got.the anemone about two weeks ago. got it home and realized it was a split anemone. got it in the tank and acclimated and saw its foot was very small from where it split. it was having a hard time anchoring and now has ended.up in the back of my tank under a rock. I sure hope it moves so i can see it and watch it.

Wow, that is a bummer. Mine likes to stretch his foot way under the rocks. Hopefully when his foot grows he will come out more.

thats what im hoping, too. I love watching anemones and was hoping to be able to enjoy watching this one! Needless to say, my clowns wont go anywhere near it in the back.

Be patient and let it do its thing! BTAs typically like to have their foot buried under a rock ledge or in some type of hole. This allows it to pull back into safety and lets it reach out for the amount of light it can handle. As it acclimates it will reach out further and further from its hole. More than likely it will also decide to move one day when it's ready for more light/flow - unless it's happy where it is.

I have my BTAs under 400W halides - some crawl to the top of the rocks and some towards the bottom. :hmm1: If you can explain why clones of the same nem like 2 totally different areas, you're a smarter person than most! :lmao: Once my nems find there happy spot, they tend to stay for me - but for some people, they are constantly on the move.

Yeh I'm the same boat as u!

Picked one up and I tried to "set it" in a rock and it kept floating away. Now it's in the back corner by itself lol
