GBTA or Sebae?

Hi all, I have a 90 gallon reef and I'm looking to get a host for my pair of tomato clowns. I like the Sebae anemone better than the GBTA, but I've read that they get fairly large? I've read these are both decent hosts for the tomato's, but which do you guys suggest more?

I would probably go with a bubble tip. they transport much, much better and are a lot less tempermental. Sebae's are HORRIBLE shippers. It is very hard to find good sebae anemones and I only see a few I would consider buying a year.

either would be fine for a 90 gallon. Just decide which you like better and go with that. BTA would be easier to care for.

My LFS has a couple sebaes that are in decent shape.

I think it depends. If you get a sebae that is indeed "healthy" when you receive it, than i think it should be a relatively easy keep. Well, as easy as a anemone can be anyways....

I would rate the sebae as harder to keep. If you have never kept an anemone before I wouls strongly suggest a BTA.

Alrighty, thanks for the advice. I'd say I have good experience with reefing in general, I have kept plenty of fish and various corals so I think I would be capable of keeping the sebae too. Do BTAs just do better in captivity?

Also look for an anemone that is well inflated and that the foot and column are flawless. These problems will surely lead to a very short life for the anemone in your tank.

To say the least! They will wander like crazy if they aren't happy with where they are (light/flow). Don't figure IMO to try and create the 'perfect spot' for him, because chances are he will be halfway across your tank 10 hours later. It can be frustrating.

I have found sebae's to wander less but it is still possible for them to do this. Anyways, I still think BTA should be better choices for captivity if you have never kept a clown hosting anemone.

i would say since you are experienced with reefing and you have a 90 gallon tank get which ever anemone you like i would prefer bta because i like te look of it but sebae's are nice i have a carpet so just pick what you like and good luck.
