Gbta turned orange

Every bubble tip I've ever had has turned orange. I had them in a 29g biocube before. I have pics but my camera doesn't seem to pick up thy spectrum real well. I've heard that the color you see on an anemone is the color it blocking. But I had a biocube with stock lights before and I've since moved it to a bigger tank with LEDs on it.

I'm not concerned about it being unhealthy. Just curious as to why they do it. I personally think they look Cooler this way anyhow. Is it parameters? Or flow? I'd assume it would be lighting But then wouldn't everyone who had stock lights on a biocube have the same thing happen? And wouldn't the colors have changed since I moved it? That pic really doesn't do the orange justice.

I had my very first green bubbletip in a 29 gallon oceanic biocube with stock power compac lights. Eventually I ended up drilling two holes in the back and running a 10 gallon homemade sump under it. Mine never went orange, just stayed a light greenish color. Ate well and split almost every other water change.

But when I moved it to my 240 gallon with 250w hqi's it darkened up alot. Like from dodge neon green to john deere green. It also went from maybe maxing out at 7-8 inches to growing out to almost a foot across. Has only split once or twice in the few years of living in the 240.

When I say I'm not concerned about it being unhealthy, what I mean is that i don't think it's unhealthy so I'm not worried about it.

I had hoped so :lmao:

Which bulbs do you use and how often do you change them? I had always wanted to do an LED mod in mine but ended up selling the tank to get a bigger one.

I have 48 Cree 3w stars 1:1 royal blue and cool white. The light set up is like 3 months old. The tank has been up for about 6 months. I spot feed them occasionally. Maybe like once a month. Just usually on the off days I accidentally mix up too much food honestly. I had an ich issue so the tank has been fishless for about a month and a half. Before I had a maroon that kept them pretty well fed. It's actually two anemones now. It split right after I moved it to the bigger tank and they both hosted the same clown until I put him in qt

I'm having a hard time seeing the orange color you are describing. Are you saying the BTA's in those photos look orange to you? To me they look standard brown color.
