I picked up a GBTA today for my Ocellaris clowns. How long does it normally take before they will host in it?

Well that really depends on the clowns. They may never host it but if they don't I've had good luck in the past by taping a picture of the clown in an anemone on the glass.

anoy1nce is actually not BS'ing you in anyway..the pic of the clownfish hosting in an anemone does seem to have its vaild arguments so try it and see if it induces hosting behavior for you just like most people on RC have reported.

Believe it or not it works most of the time! The vodka thing... it wont make your clowns host, but vodka is awesome if you have corals.

Print off a picture you see of clownfish hosting in an anemone, print it off, and tape it on the glass close to the anemone and with any luck theyll see it and copy.

O.K. I cut out a pic of some clowns hosting and taped it to the side of the tank. The clowns backed away from that spot for awhile. We'll see if it works. I thought you were just giving me crap.

I guess I am fortunate with my clowns. the two from the very beginning would host anything that had tentacles. they would go for frogspawn, hammer, bubble, torch, and even tried duncans. maybe you can try scaring them closer to the nem repeatedly and backing off. eventually they might realize it is safer near the nem...just a suggestion not sure if it will work
