Gender Change

long story short my large female Ocellaris passed and am looking to replace her.

my question comes with the fact that she was paired with a much smaller clown (male) who is roughly 1.5-1.75 inches, she was just over 3. since she passed just shy of 2 weeks ago is there a chance my remaining male changed genders to female?

i found a nice 3 inch b&w Ocellaris however cannot pick it up until the weekend.

I would only replace with a smaller clown preferably Juvi so it can mature into a male and give time to get your current male to transition to a female.

You are most likely safe. I did this same thing with a male that had been by himself for the exact same reason. After adding the obviously female clown(3+inches), they were spawning within a month.
