Thoughts on this Sportsman from home depot, it's a single outlet but I figure I could run a powerstrip to it. 800 running wattz, I want to be able to run my 150 watt heater and my return pump, jebao dct6000 so should be more than enough to struggle through a power outage.

Figure at the price it could be hard to beat

Why not spend a few dollars more and get close to double?

I'm no expert in generators but I have been considering one also.

Ive inquired a few times on here before, last time I was told to stick with inverter generators as they work better with electronics.

Check on there return policy? If you can return it, buy it and test.

Yea I did end up buying one, since it's Home Depot the return policy is 30 days. Ill check it out but at $158 for peace of mind without having to spend $400-1000 for others makes me happy.

My justification to my wife was the cost versus what my tank costs to replace. At the price of the higher generators she would have rather watched us roll the dice...

Yea I did end up buying one, since it's Home Depot the return policy is 30 days. Ill check it out but at $158 for peace of mind without having to spend $400-1000 for others makes me happy.

i have a Sportsman Dual fuel generator from home depot its quite old and starts first pull.. I am near positive it has a re branded Kohler engine on it..

I have ran everything from Construction equipment on it to most of my house . we used to have a whole house generac and the 3 times we needed it. it would not start. There Customer Support is the worse in the industry in my opinion..

If you do use a low w generator Do not get a 2 stroke and never run it more then half load if your using computer equipment. if the governor is throttling wide open the power starts to get dirty .

I bought a second one from home depot on there big sale that has not even been started yet.I seen them 60%off and know my other one is kinda old .
I have never ran mine on Gasoline Propane only..

figure I should put the real link and not the mobile one. I think this thing is a hell of a deal for those of us who really want a bargain inverter generator. I have great power to my house so power outages are only a handful of times per year and really only last a few minutes tops. So this is for the RARE occasion that I wont be so lucky.

you can also get a power conditioner for running sensitive equip . but i see the one your looking has it built in...

I'll report back when I have it how it runs. I just figured I'd post this up for anyone who has been considering one. Good time to buy possibly.
