Genicanthus Personatus

Im getting 6-8pcs of Genicanthus personatus (masked angel) on Thursday/Friday and am freaking out about these guys...is there anything that I should know to make sure tha they dont die on me? I only plan to keep them for 3-4 days. Any advice is useful so I can prep the holding bins now.

the key to keeping these guys alive is to send em to me........i can hold them for longer than 3-4 days....guarantee that!

Feed clam on half shall and scallop
that info will cost you 15 photos of the angels when you get them

+1 with what Yurivd said. 3-4 days should be fine for sure, even if they don't eat, but I'd definitely offer clam on the half shell and you could also shred up some clam/mussels/squid/scallop, etc to see if they'll take that.

Also, keep the water quality very high.

Pictures or this didn't happen. Any other details as to where they're going, what you're doing with them?

Just out of curiosity, how does he know he's gonna collect 6-8? These arent like yellow tangs (as Im sure you and he knows). This has really piqued my curiosity. Im also a bit curious how he is going to collect 6-8 of them and doesnt know how to keep them for 4 days?

Again, Im not doubting or nay-saying, but it just strikes me as odd.

I'm guessing maybe he has buyers/permits for that number of fish so that's what's he's hoping to grab. Pure speculation on my part...

I know first hand that Rob has been catching very deep and rare hawaiian fish as of late . So if he claims to be getting some he will have them . His holding system is primitive compaired to what most here have, and im sure that he is just being cautious (very expensive catch). These are just being held till they purge and he can ship (japan) and possably a few here

Donnie is right and so is Cam. I do know what I am doing... for catching the fish, and I am going to catch my own masked angels. I AM GOING TO CATCH 6-8pcs. However, what Im terrified of is them dying on me in my system since they are comming from a depth below 78m. I have never had them before and I dont want to lose any of these very rare and hard to get fish. 72F? Ok. Clam and mussel? ok. Thanks guys!

Rob, when you bring them in, it would be interesting if you would tell us your journey in catching them. Ofcourse a few pictures would be cool and a few pics of where they were caught at.
