GEO Calcium reactor Media Help

I have a GEO calcium reactor. The instruction say to use 8 pounds of media. I purchased the 9 lb size of large grain GEN-X media. I leak tested all the fitting last night and was ready to fill my reactor. The 9 lbs of media only fill it approximately halfway but the instructions say to fill to the line. Which one is correct.?

I assume I have to buy more media, but the instructions are misleading???

I always thought it was the 612. After measuring it I think I have the 618. All of the instructions say 8 pounds. Now reading the description on geo's website I guess it needs approx. 12 pounds.

My wife bought it from a local dealer as a surprise, I always thought she bought the 612????
