It is an air stone skimmer with a wet neck. It will have about 3.5-4.0 CFM of air going in and about 800-900 GPH water feed.

Here is my new and hopefully last piece from GEO.

 I think your next purchase will be a Chevy 350 to drive the pump:lol:

That my RC friend is one he!! of a skimmer...The size kind of reminds me of the POS ER skimmers Jeff runs in his shop.

I will actually use 1/3 of the electricity my current becket uses and hopefully get 100 times better skimmate.

I don't quite follow this one. Would you care to elaborate on it?

Kind of an inside joke and a poke at ER..I really despise ER and their whole operation...Jeff (Exoticfish.com) has about 4x 6 foot tall ER in his shop..the size of your skimmer just reminds me of them. Nothing against your skimmer. I hope the best for you.

dgasmd you have just started a new wave in protein skimmers, high output low power skimmer.GEO has built a very good skimmer that should keep him building them for a very long time.

Is most of his work custom jobs ? I looked on his site, but he only has 2 Protein Skimmer models listed.

dgas how many air stones and do thay screw into bulkhead fittings in the back of the box?

It will have 2x9" stones amd possinly 6-8 of the 6" stones. The air stones I am using are the 25 micron fine pore ceramic diffusers from Aquatic ecosystems. They will be scewed into a 2 tear manifold that does screw into a bulkhead at the bottom. Each 6" of air stone produces 0.5 CFM of air, so I should have 4.5 to 5.5 CFM of air coming in. I suspect, since I have not calculated it yet, that this skimmer peaks its efficiency at about 3.0-3.5 CFM though. So, I guess the extra air will be wasted and making the skimmer more inefficient. I will try with 6 of the 6" stone and go from there if needed.

HOLY CRAP!!! good lord buddy how many gallons you planning?

you ever get that AC figured out? hope those codes i send you helped.

anesthesiologist - man do love those guys. they made my many surgeries great. nice scubs too....comfy working clothes

I am new to calcium reactors and I have recently purchased the Geo612. My problem is the bubble counter on the regulator I have shows that virtually no CO2 is getting into the reactor. I sent GEO an email, and he replied that I need to bump up the flow of my effluent to about 30 ml. I assume he means per minute. Anyone know how much CO2 I am supposed to be using with this amount of effluent? I am running a 180.

it all depends on how much it takes to get your reactor to the pH you want. i use schuran style media and run my reactor at 6.3 when i used arm i ran about 6.6 i believe

Perc,

Start with 45 bubbles per minute at 60 ml per minute. If thats not enough (tank ALK continues to drop) add 5 more bubbles per minute and allow 24 hours for the change to be effective. Do not touch the effluent setting. The effluent pH should be in the neighborhood of 6.5-6.8 and should be ~ 30dkh.

Day one: measure tank ALK and Ca
Day two: measure tank ALk, if dropping increase bubbles
Day three: measure tank ALK, if rising decrease bubbles
Day four: measure tank ALK

Continue cycle until the tank ALK does not fluctuate. Remember, reactors are designed to maintain parameters. When your numbers are solid for two or three straight days the reactor is SET. At least until you add a few clams.

Anybody have any pictures of a broken in recirc Geo? I'd kind of like to see what the bubbles look like coming up to the collection cup

Here you go!!! It's an 8"X30" chamber with 1 Sedra 9000.

Thanks cward....you wouldn't happen to have any other pictures I could take a look at...I'd kind of like to see the full body in action..

Sorry to bother..
