I just received my Geo 618 Ca reactor so I guess I'm one of you guys now.

Question though.

The instructions weren't very clear. I'm not quite sure what goes where. Can some of you post some of your Geo setup pics and maybe some pointers to help me intall this thing?

Thanks

does geo answer his pm's and emails anymore, i have been sending emails for about a week or more and havent gotten an answer to not one of them....

is he still building custom skimmers, or is he really backed-up????

LB you ever get a reading?

I'm guessing he's really backed up. A local ordered a skimmer back in Feb. and is still waiting for it.

He is still building them and is very backed up. I ran into him at a local store a couple weeks ago. I had ordered back in January.

I'm now a proud member, too! Just got my skimmer today- picked it up at Phishy Business! (Thanks Serdar!!) I'm glad they're both local for me, lol...

2 sedra 9000 pumps with a couple other mods... I'll try and get some pics. It's been on for a couple hours now and it's already pulling skimmate.

It sure is a beautiful skimmer, though.

Be patient, it's worth it!!! Geos are great products for a great price- probably half of what a comparable H&S would have cost but it is definitely NOT half the skimmer, lol!!!! The joints are smooth and the edges all rounded. A very finished look!

Hello, I just joined the club by acquiring a Geo 612 Calcium Reactor. I've been running a Kalk Reactor on my tank, but it's not keeping up with the calcium demand. Since I have a Kalk reactor, I'm wondering if it's feasible for me to set up the 612 to run during the daylight hours only and then use my controller to shut the solenoid down at night? My concern with doing this is that it might take too long for the reactor pH to lower when its been off all night. Anyone have experience with this?

Many thanks, Geary

Just ordered a Geo 618 Calcium Reactor and can hardly wait to get it. Will be glad to get off the 2 part system that I am currently on. Will let you know about how the setup goes.

George has dedicated most of his time to building reactors for the vendors who sell them. Any down time (if any) that he has is used to build stuff like skimmers, and I can tell you that the waiting list is long.

Here are pics of mine (in action, if I can get them posted, lol). Anyone interested in his products should contact Serdar at Phishy Business- I picked mine up on Sunday and he had a few skimmers in stock as well as some of the other products- I think they're the same price as Geo charges direct, so they're still a great deal!!

Geary,
I'd run both- I'm thinking of adding a kalk reactor to my setup at sometime in the future. You could then keep the ca (alkalinity) reactor solenoid on 24/7, or just during the day if you prefer, and then drip the kalk at night.

That would help pH swing as well as boost the Ca. I think that's what more and more people are doing nowadays!!!

genx knock off on my hanna

tank water is 0.02 and water out of the reactor is .03

sorry not a geo reactor a schuran

had to buy another reactor after getting mine fixed (2 week wait turned into a 6 month wait)

Thanks, James. I am planning on running both, but I am wondering if its okay to run the calcium reactor just during the day when the halides are on.

Another question... I'm using the Gen X media in my reactor. It's a large media similar to the Schuran. Anyone know what's the best effluent pH for this stuff?

I run my reactor ph at 6.4 with the genx media.

cward, I noticed that you have both Kalk and Calcium reactors on your tank. Do you run them both 24/7?

Thanks, Geary

Just got my 618 reactor and I'm very impressed with the craftsmanship. I have a question about media???

Is anyone running Korallith media in theirs or do I have to get something different? I was using the Korallith in my previous reactor without issues. Thanks!
