Depending on how you physically hook it up, I would make sure your calcium reactor has the same amount of pressure at all times, or else your drip rate could change. If you can do that and split the feed at the same time, I don't see why not.

Is anyone having problems with the check valves on their kalk reactor? My reactor back siphons water into my auto top off bucket, and i have the check valve set up the correct way. the arrow is pointing in the driection i WANT the water to go.

thanks guys

I have change the media in my Geo calcium reactor to the new coarse ARM from CaribSea it came in a 8 llb jar and did not require rinsing. Cost $19.00.

I think I saw that at MACNA. The rep told me they also have it in a much bigger container, maybe 25lbs. Let us know how it works for you, and if you get a chance to measure the phosphate level from the effluent that would be great.

I have been using GenX Media and constantly am fighting bubbles
in the reactor. Effects effluent drip eventually. Anyone else have this problem. Have you switched back to ARM? What are the pro's and con's for each media?

Please help.

I have the same combo and have zero issues. If it is a new setup, open the effluent valve wide open and turn off the CO2 for a few days. This helps to purge the air from the reactor.

The real question is, how are the bubbles getting in? Yes, I had a little bit of air in mine when I first turned it on (assumed, as there are holes/pockets in the media). I haven't really had an issue since.

Do you have a loose connection that is sucking in air somewhere?

Chris the phosphate level from the coarse ARM 0.25, i used a Salifert test kit. PH from the output of the calcium reactor 6.8

MdM31:

Go to any Petsmart/Petco etc and just purchase another check valve and put it inline. They aren't expensive.

I know I added another one on my CA Rx just to make sure the water didn't ever run back into my Regulator.

I love my new skimmer, along with my geo calcium AND kalk reactor!!

I have the Aqua Medic regulator and it's worked perfect since I've had it. As far as a ph controllers, I've used the Reef Fanatic micro controller with good luck.

i just setup a 618 on my tank (two months ago) and would highly recommend getting a controller. It was so easy to setup.

I agree, get the controller. Even if you don't use it to try to keep your pH steady, its an extra security feature just in case something happens.

I have the same problem that you do with the geo calcium reactor and i have talk to George about it he can not tell me why it is doing it. fishnugget i hope you have got your geo calcium reactor fix. Have a good day. Ralph

Maybe your effluent rate needs to be increased. I've been using this media for over a year with no problems, but my effluent rate is over 115ml per minute.
