I should be getting a GEO Kalk Reactor today and I was wondering if someone could tell me what they are using for a controller and switches. I was wondering if a liter meter would work with this reactor.

hmmm skimmate!! so did you have to send the skimmer in or did geo tell you how to do it

George just happened to see my post and suggested this "you can restrict the air a bit to tighten up the bubbles and fill the chamber" I added a tiny gate valve to the air intake and it worked...This sucker is working great after just one week.

I use an old Liter meter on my Kalk reactor controlled by a float switch and backed up by the float switched that came with it. What I would do is use something like this http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=AQ4513

Or just use the pump and contoll it with the ReefFanatic top off system

Don't get me wrong. The Liter meter is a GREAT product. I've been using their old model (Liter Meter I I guess) for 5+ years and its never failed.

Thanks for the help. If I used a Liter meter would I need a float
switch?
I am thinking about a Liter meter III.

Here's something I thought you guy's might enjoy. It is a raffle ticket tumbler George made for our club. It's an 8" tube built just like a calcium reactor with the key holes and everything. It's actually bigger than it looks and it's built like a tank.

The Liter Meter III is kind of expensive but its a great dosing pupm. You don't need a float switch but it wouldn't hurt because then you would have 3 ways to control it.

Thanks I recieved the reactor on Friday and it had the instructions. I probalbly should of waited until I got it before I asked questions. Wow
Geo really does great work!! Worth every penny!!

You know what I like about George? Other then the quality workmanship, the fast e-mail replies he's a truly honest person and not out to make the quick buck. He always open for ideas and looking for ways to improve his product. This man hand makes EVERY single product that leaves his shop. Part of me hopes that he grows bigger and is able to open a larger operation with more of employees (anybody who's ordered from him knows he needs help) part of me hopes he stays just the way he is.

This new skimmer he made for me blows away anything I've ever seen...well, except for that 12" trash can looking thing Steve (Gtrestorations) has...I think he calls it a Burger king or Bubble king..something like that?

 have you ever seen one of those things:eek1: Not knocking em one bit, their a great skimmer but OMG that thing is huge.

Actually, I finally got to see 2 at MACNA. One was sitting on the floor and another running in a tank. I was sorely unimpressed by both. They are large (so what?) and very quiet running. Their red PVC tubing actually looke retarded and out of place to me, but others think they have some magical/voodoo powers.

George thank you for the help with the riser tub extension, used plastic tape and tie wrap to hold it in place.Works very well .
