Question for you guys...
I have a GEO-612 reactor but since I started using it, I realized that my CO2 needle valve on my regulator won't allow me to dial in a precise enough bubble rate. When I adjust it to 38 bubbles per minute over the next couple of days it either settles at 34 or 44 bubbles per minute instead. I just ordered a M3 (more precise needle valve) however it I'm not sure how to hook it up with my existing equipment. Here's my issue:
I currently have a Blueline CO2 reg / solenoid / needle valve. http://www.championlighting.com/pics/careactorpics/co2new.jpg . Notice that it has the bubble counter that screws on top of the needle valve? None of the precision needle valves have this screw on attachment; they only have a barbed tube attachment in its place. http://www.marinedepot.com/IMD/150/CO3151.jpg
My question is do I need to get a separate bubble counter (with suction cups) that has tube barbs on both ends? Or can I use the clear bubble viewer that is on the reactor itself? I never have used the one on the reactor and was wondering if it served the same function (bubble counting)? Do you guys have a separate bubble counter other than the one on the reactor? Is it necessary?
