In Memoriam
Well I just finished rinsing my sand and it is all dried and I soaked my rock now that is all good I have it ina FW bath now and going to take it out and let it dry and then all I have to do it start the aquscape.

I hope to have the water in it by next weekend!!!!!!
I cant belive how bright my lights are! I have 2 250w MH,1 175wMH and 2 Actinic VHO's I thin I can keep just about anything in there!

I am not sure how to make a cave or a leadge I would like to do some really cool stuff as I got some really nice pieces of eco rock from 2 part solutions in the cities. I guess I should have waited to host a meeting till now...then we all could have had a aquascaping clinic!!!LOL

See you all this weekend

I think the I Falls reefers should start a build now. Then we'd all be involved with a tank build at the same time. ;)

Can't wait to see the setup. So, what do you want to keep that you couldn't before the halides?

I'm making saltwater this week so I'm getting close too. I think the next step for us is rock lifts. We purchased some PVC for that purpose.

Garrett, can't you make a ledge by arranging the rock and drilling it like you did last time?

Use some big ole zip-ties for connecting rock work. Or make shelving out of 1/2" PVC and egg-crate, that's what I have done in the past.

Garrett, we can have the next meeting at your house sometime mid January. You should be well on your way by then.

no fair, mines still empty!

I wish I could make this meeting, but I work. Hopefully I can come to on next month. In February, I'll be doing a big buy (tax season!! YEA!) of rics and zoanthids, so if you want I can host one in June/July, and I can see what types of frags I have growing.

PS
NEED PICTURES!!!

I'll start my build if you guys are paying for it, lol. I'm planning on a 125 or now possible an Oceanic 135 depending on the price. Maybe tax time will help with that.

Well I pumped out the FW and cleaned the glass and I think tomorrow I might put the sand in if I can find some patio pavers first, I am going to put those down to build my aquascape on and then put the sand to cover it. I have been looking at differant aquascapes and I found a few I like.

As far as our next meeting I think we should maybe go to Tiffanys??? if she wanted or one of the others since I had the 1st one I don't think it would be fair to the rest of group?

I might need to order some more salt so if I do if someone wants anything we could do a group order I will be ordering from F&S probably in a week or so. I have to get some new filters for my RO/DI unit so I can start off with good water.

If you guys are willing to all drive way the heck up here you're more than welcome, all my tanks are technically nanos but I got them full of pretty corals to look at.

Garrett, don't you know by now aquascaping never goes the way you want? I think I've redone my tanks about a million times by now. Still aren't the way I want them.

Ya I know it never goes the way you plan but I think what the heck I am going to draw a plan and try to stick with it!!!

Garrett -What do the pavers do for you? Stop the rock from slipping I assume? You're still not going to do rock lifts in this tank? I think you mentioned before you didn't care for them. Curious since that's the stage I'm at. My saltwater making is slow. Maybe I'll be done by Sunday?

Tiff - I'd love to come up and see your tanks. The pics you posted a while were great. Maybe you'll be building the 125 by then too??

Maybe Swanwillow will be ready for one the time after that and I'll have a new tank soon I could use some tips on as well!

Garrett - I'm still needing test kits so let me know when you order those things.

The paver are for the rocks to sit on so there would not be any need for rock lifts. You put them down before the sand bed build off of them and when you are done than you just put the sand in and cover up the pavers I think I am going to start on it today!!! I have been taking pics of the process so when I am done I will post some pics.

I talked in depth today with LiveAquaria in Wisconsin. They host reef clubs for tours and such. We need to do a road-trip some time soon!!!!!!!

It's a loooong drive there, I'll warn you. If Mr. James doesn't mind I could use his internet and show some pics I have from LiveAquaria's facility. It's pretty nice.

Look at all their duncans!
