Clowns will initially feel a slight sting from an anemone. Until they get used to it, they can be reluctant to dive in. You can try using brine shrimp in a turkey baster to entice them into the nem. Thaw some in a cup and then squirt it near and into the nem until the clowns get used to the feel of the sting. The clowns should go after the brine shrimp. Brine shrimp are like cotton candy to Clowns, they love it but there is no nutritional value.
In the end, Clowns will be hosted by whatever they feel comfortable in; Frogspawn, Torches, Mushrooms, powerheads etc. and there is nothing we can do except enjoy them wherever they feel like living.
