Just purchased reefer 250 and it will be in a spot where there are no plugs around, so need to install a new one in a wall right behind the aquarium.
I'm in Canada, house is 3 years old, aquarium on main floor so extremely easy to fish wire, wires here are 14-2.
The only question is what kind, regular, gcfi, afci, 15amp or 20amp

Do not get pout a gfci there if you cannot push the reset button with the tank in front of it. If you can access it easily then yes out a gfci there. If you cannot the out a standard outlet and replace an outleton the same circuit with a gfci outlet. That way when it trips you can reset it easily. You only need one on the circuit to protect allof the outlets on that circuit.

Also I'm not familiar with Canadian codes but if in the US and your using 14-2 You would want a 15amp rated breaker or 20 if 12ga wiring. The outlet will accommodate either of these amps.

What everybody else has said, and adding that the difference between afci and gfci in a nutshell is, afci prevents arcing and fire, while gfci prevents shocking.
