Getting to Macna from airport...

Hello all,
I will be attending MACNA with the Misses and I just realized that the airport is about 45 minutes from the hotel. Boy, that is some cab bill. Is there any other means of transportation that I could look into? Does anyone local plan on doing any airport runs? I will be arriving Thursday 9.am. Thanks all.

Your best bet is a rental car.

It looks like you would pick up the transfer bus in Oakland and at the same spot. Oakland is where the universities are. Getting back to the airport may be a little trickier since it will be a Sunday I assume.

It might be a good idea to look into the rental car also. Hotwire.com has some good rates.

If you do take the bus you would pay the fare getting on and ask for a transfer ticket. I think it costs 50 cents but it will allow you to get on the bus in oakland to get to monroeville without paying anything additional.

Maybe someone else more familiar with the route can chime in.

I just checked hotwire.com and they have rental cars for $16 per day at Pittsburgh International for an economy car. The ride is not that far so a car like that should be fine. Might be the way to go for $48. That way you can sightsee after the show if you would like.

There are also private shuttle companies that will take you for about $30 ish. For two of you, Steve is right... a rental car will likely be less expensive, especially since parking at the show is free.
