I usually just drill a small hole on the return spigot, so that the siphon breaks when the power shuts off. This has worked well in the past on my other systems. However, the 210g to sump's drop is rought 4' and the suction was much greater and it proceeded to siphon in about 8g water into the sump.
GF (George Fisher) Check Value seemed like a good alternative. it is supposed to be easier to clean and lasts a lot longer than the standard check valve.
At the momment, I just widened the hole and now the siphon shuts off with less than a 2g to the sump.
