STEP ONE: You cut a hole in the box.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I don't like having to continuously swirl my test tubes while doing water tests & the lab grade shakers are too expensive. So I made my own.

Parts list:
-Small styrofoam box
-Knife
-A umm... "retired toy"

-Make a small hole in the box that the innards of the "toy" will fit into.
-Make an indent in the top of the box that will provide a tight fit for a test tube.
-Done

I can't find my soldering iron right now, but I eventually plan to put a switch on the side & clean things up a little bit. But for now this will suffice.

You Screen name is fitting because you are truly my hero

I am In the process of building a light lift with a remote control the biggest problem I have with it is that you can use the remote but to change it from up to down you have to flip a switch so you either have to flip the switch after the last use or walk over to it and switch it before you use it. I used sliding cargo hooks {modified of course} out of a 2008 dodge dakota pickup bed, for the rails the bars between were cut out of a big display sign. the actuator is one we had sitting around. and the remote unit is off an extra set of WARN off road lights. plus a twelve volt power supply I had sitting around. I have to weld the shepards hooks on yet and then hope the actuator is strong enough if not I'll buy one that is.

If this actuator doesn't work I have to figure how to come up with the rightsize actuator if anyone has an idea on how to do that.

Beer on one side, fish on the other.

Just make sure you suck out of the correct straw, because you don't want fish store water in your mouth.

You know, because they use copper and your mouth coral might not grow so well.

40 pages of gold. took me two shifts at work to get through it all. People kept asking what I was laughing about... explaining didnt help at all.

i am going to be good here !
i have to say a fue of the ideas where good !
i like the 5 gal skimmer big time !

I'm in the process of setting my 75g back up. It had 2 drains, but I wanted the 3rd for the Bean system.

So I bought the bit & went to get started. Then realized I had no plumber's putty or silicone. But I did have tape. Lots of tape.

Worked perfectly.

Some people have fancy clamps made for holding wood & stuff while it dries. I have tape & 2x4s.

What you don't see is me cutting that overflow with my little Skill saw w/ a disc made for cutting metal. A disc that didn't properly fit that saw...

I had the auto-shut off on a salt bucket. But why fill the salt bucket & pump the water into the tank over a dozen times when I can just hook the line up to the display tank?

That's a cut up top to a salt bucket, a float style ASO, & a Mag Float. Guess we'll find out if it works soon enough...
