Question about Mitras

Question about Mitras

I just received my 2 Mitras yesterday and downloaded the software to a laptop running windows 7 home.
It connects to the light but when I try to run the firmware update it keeps telling me that it failed and to unplug for a few seconds. It still will not accept the upgrade . Am I doing something wrong? Do I even need this upgraded or is it just for windows 8 ?
Does anyone have a program set that mimics Radium 20K halide bulbs. If so can you send me a copy.

Thanks
Mark

You need to follow the on screen instruction exactly. So from memory, yes you need to unplug the Mitras from the electricity for a few seconds then plug it back in. I am sure Michael will comment futher soon......

Unplug and replug each Mitras after it shuts down, it may have updated anyways.
Check the firmware on the lamp to see if it worked.
I've had similar things happen to me..

We strongly suggest all users join the support forum so they do not miss very important firmware updates and technical enhancement bulletins.

The software can say failed at the end but it has taken, I believe this is due to windows not seeing a microsoft driver, providing you unplug the lamps and plug them back in it will work.To check - re boot up as per instructions watch the screen on the lamp and you will see the latest version.

Mine does the exact same thing, if you get a failure message at the end still reboot.

if you have any issues with the firmware not taking then please start a support thread on the support forum www.profiluxsupport.com for accurate support.

I just registered an account with GHL but it doesn't let me start a new thread. I'm using windows 7 ultimate 64, it installed the driver just fine, recognized the Mitras, but every time I update firmware it stops at step 4/5 telling me to unplug and replug. I did exactly what it says and wait forever for the "next" button to become active but no luck.

Read a few posts from those lucky guys said they clicked canceled anyway and still got the firmware updated, but that's not the case for me. I went through a lot of posts in GHL forum but looks like no answer. Very frustrated.

due to spammers you have to wait to be accepted this can take 24 hours or if over a weekend until Monday.

question answered on your other threads of the same topic.

Does anyone have Rodneyri program for the mitras. I contacted Rodney and he is not running the lights any more. I would like to have a basic program that I can start to ramp up so I do not burn the corals. Just getting ready to instsll the lamps on the tank today.

Just to let the Mitras club know you can come and meet the GHL developer himself at macna this year, lots of Mitras on display too.

What intensity settings do you have your mitras at for your cube?

Thanks!

Don
