Firmware still reads 1.06 after performing update 2x using software v.1.0.2.3 downloaded via your link. Software indicates firmware update complete and I have cycled the power both times.

V1.06 is not within the software to be installed this means the lamp has not gone into bootloader, most likely due to missmatch COM port which you need to change in device manager.

Yep you have to it does not auto load, its embedded but you must manually install it ;)

To go over this for others in more details

when you load the software this does not load also the firmware to the lamp.

Install software
Connect
Click on Firmware update
Follow onscreen prompts.

The lamp has to be put into bootloader mode by the user to install the firmware. By clicking firmware update the lamp is then put into bootloader mode on the second dialogue screen. This is confirmed by the LCD screen turning off.

Hope that helps :)

I did go through those motions and it went into bootloader and turned off the lamp. The steps counted down on the new window and indicated it was complete, including the note about cutting the power. It leaves you thinking the firmware update is complete. The only clear indication is the window in the software indicating the firmward version and the info screen on the Mitras during power up.

The instruction prior to the firmware update is good and I recommend that everyone take the extra step the first time and confirm the driver is installed by manually finding it and installing. The fact that the software comunicates with the Mitras does not guarantee that the driver is installed. If you are an XP fan like me and hate Windows 7 :headwalls:, also like me, when you browse for the driver it will look like a folder vs. a driver file. Bleh!

If you have the driver installed a progress bar will light up to the left of the driver install window with more info. If you see that you are updating the driver. Also when you reboot the Mitras the display on the Mitras will prompt you for a language selection which you have to confirm on the unit. In the software control screen the language window will be blank and despite choosing English and savinging, I had to confirm on the Mitras.

Now that I've got that sorted out on to the 2nd and 3rd units :celeb1:

Ahaha a rogue XP user - that will explain everything :)

Sadly my laptop at home came with 7 so I am stuck using it, my office machines are still running XP and I'm lovin' it  I'm from the before 3.11 era so i can get along with almost any Windows product, just find XP easier to navigate. :hmm4:

Ahh that's a blast from the past... It's been a long time since I saw someone mention "3.11"

I am also a big fan of XP and we still run it on all of our Corp machines and will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Long live XP :)

Sunrise/Sunset

Would u happen to have a project for a realistic sunrise and sunset with the daily operation temperature of 20000K? Before I hang my lights I would like to load a project that will do this with lamp #1 starting first, then 2, then 3. Transitioning to all 3 @ 20000K for the peak, then burning down stating with 1,and ending with 3.

Am I assuming correctly that pc is required to control the mitras?
I've given my soul to Mac and I may go to H E double hockey sticks if I need a pc laptop to control the mitras....
Don't get me wrong, I'm sold on them. I'm prepared to go to, but if rather avoid it if I can..
:)

Nope sorry, its not due to the want its the financial claw back, to do Mac software properly the cost is far greater than the amount of users the software would attract to the lamp to recoup the cost of development, and with some good Virtual machine offerings now many companies are not going down this route, sorry :(

Ok.. thats life..
I'm no computer wiz.. I'm a computer goof, actually..
Did a quick google of virtual machine..
Isn't it an operating system? Couldn't one download it on any computer?
Obviously not, I guess.
So what type of laptop would I need in terms of memory/processing power to properly run virtual machine?
Any laptop that comfortably runs windows 7?

VM allows you to run windows on a Mac system, yes its another program from what I gather not being Mac user myself, maybe someone else can chime in here?

You can use any laptop PC

Ok well, I'm getting a little ahead of myself, here... I'll look into it a little more.
Thanks for the info!

IT DOESNT WORK ON MAC!!!. Even if you use parallels or vm. Michael you should know about that since you sent me the original info re my mac on parallels.
So, unless you have an old pc at home, MITRAS wont work on a MAC. I have exhausted all avenues including paying other parties to see if possible. Bottom line NO ONE can come up with WHY!!!!!
But if anyone wants to give it a try I AM ALL FOR IT
