GHL Mitras LED PAR and Price release

PS GHL is who makes and sells the ProfiLux line of controllers which explains why the GHL Mitras can be controller by the ProfiLux controller.

Ok, I know I will get some backlash for this question but I need to ask it. Can mitras be controlled through an apex? Months back I purchased an apex full package and I was really on the fence between an apex and a profilux. I really should have stuck with my gut and went for the profilux. But what's done is done. I was planning on purchasing two kessil A350's and control them with the apex. I had information that kessil had planned on making a controllable version, different than the tunable version they have now. But the mitras really looks nice and is starting to possibly change my plans for my tank. I read that profilux can control mitras, can an apex do it? Again sorry about asking but I need to.

Simple answer is no and there is no need as the Mitras can be controlled directly by any PC or laptop, the software is a cut down version of the new soon to be launched GHL software for the ProfiLux. The Mitras will also have a wireless module and eventual APP.

When you say "cut down version " , What features would a PIII have over a PC running the "cut down version" ?

The version for the Mitras will only have control for the Mitras

The version for the ProfiLux will have all the features for the ProfiLux as well as the features for the Mitras.

There is no need to provide users of NON ProfiLux with software features they can not use so there will be two versions.

Mitras version
ProfiLux version

PAR readings taken in tank

The other data you produced is equally impressive!

Readings taken with an Apogee PAR meter, all pumps turned off in my tank. Tank had a water change yesterday. To keep the readings consistent I placed the meter's sensor in the tank and took a reading in High Efficiency mode on the Mitras then without moving the sensor changes the lights to High Output mode and took the reading. This was repeated at each level so the results are comparable with my situation.

Tank Specs; 140x75x55 deep (water level approx 57)

PAR readings in High Efficiency mode
240 (sandbed)
312
368
576 (water level)

PAR readings in High Output mode
340 (sandbed)
450
560
810 (water level)

Another light to add to the LED lights to consider for my new bigger 2013 reef build *facepalm* :D These lights look really nice so far. I'll add them to the short list of lights I was considering.

I think that's a great idea. I don't think you would ever regret going Mitras (if you so decide to go that route).... I mean few people regret buying that Ferrari :)

I was considering the Pacific Sun LEDs too so I am willing to spend the money for a better unit. Everyone keeps telling me to look at the AI Vegas and Radions. But I am not impressed with either. The new AI Vegas while getting better color then the Sols have an awful disco effect and they still look like a brick hanging over the tank. The Radions, IMHO, are better then the AIs but not blown away by them either. I'd rather spend a bit more money and get an LED system that I don't see getting negative reviews. If you spend more money now, you'll likely spend less money later because you won't have to be continuosly upgrading your lights.

I plan on getting an Elos tank/stand and having Inland Aquatics build a sump with an ATS/skimmer combo. I will also buy the Spectrapure Litermeter III during initial set-up. That stuff alone will be a nice chunk of change. I'll just use my old MH light system until I save up some more cash for the lights.

It'll take me a while to build up the cash though as my cat took much of my new tank savings. He got a kidney infection and had to spend two days at the vet hooked up to an IV. He was very pathetic-looking :( And while I love my tanks, I wuv my kitty-boy more. He takes top honors over any tank project :D

Hi for a 130x60x60cm 470ltr app will 2 units be enough? I am going to keep SPS & LPS and maybe some mushrooms at the bottom.

130cmx 60cm x 60cm = roughly 51" x 24" x 24"

Yes 2 units would cover that system very well giving wall to wall coverage and good penetration to the sand bed.
