This is the fish that keeps me coming back - and I have no idea why. Perhaps its because I think that the hawk is one species of fishes that is ideally suited for captivity - even the big ones - much more so than any other predator, except maybe for scorpions/lions. But I just saw a >>>14"<<< !!!1!! :eek1: one and now I'd like to get another, it was a pretty impressive hawk.

does anybody have one currently?
seen them for sale anywhere?
cool photos?

Also, anyone keeping the west african hawk they have at divers den? How does it look in person?

very cool looking fish

awesome. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get one? I'm having a hell of a time finding anyone who stocks them.

well, nobody really 'stocks' them. I have been told that is because of their area of collection in central and south america. there aren't enough species in demand from those areas to get regular shipments. I suppose finding an accommodating lfs owner is the best chance to find one.
When diver's den used to take special requests i had one with them for over a year, they eventually told me they were going to stop all special requests, but that they would still try to fill ones they already had. then a few months later they emailed me again saying (in a nut shell) that i would have to find one elsewhere. but the c.punctatus did come from divers den.

Hey TTT trigger. I noticed your tick avatar. I just got over not only Lyme disease but Bebeosus (sp). Lyme is bad enough but me being a guy and saying nothing is wrong until it was too late proved that the later disease did a number on me. After IV antibiotics for a couple of weeks I killed it. Man I hate those ticks. I want to kill all bambis on eastern long island and I'm an animal lover. Sorry if i hikacked your thread but heed his warning if you live in tick country and check check check, as well as mans best friend.

it's late or i'd type more, but good for you. I spent the first three years misdiagnosed, the next two getting the "it's all in your head" thing from doctors, then tried some alternative stuff - and basically (i seriously hate to say it) my life has gone down the crapper. I have tested positive for lyme on multiple tests, been diagnosed with babesia and bartonella and STILL have doctors telling me i'm fine because i took 4 weeks of Doxycycline.

i could go on, but like i said, it's late. thank you very much for sharing that IV antibiotics did the trick for you.
