Please look at this pic of a new crocea.

Going by the end of the rigid tubing at 9 o clock you can see a very tiny white pyramid but, what is it resting on? It appears to be a snail embedded into the edge of the mantle. The head is approx 1/4" and has two feelers on it, the body is embedded and spirals around about 3/4". Theclam otherwise appears to be healthy and is fully extended. What is the best course of removal of something so large, or is it even parasitic at all?
