Giant worm is ruling my tank

Looks like it already eat 2 fire shrimps.

*shiver* that gave me the chills. I've a huge bristleworm in my tank and I get the heebie jeebies everytime I see that thing crawling around at 1am. Sorry, I don't know what kind of worm it is.

pretty sure thats a bristleworm...pending who you ask they are even evil being that must be destroyed or great for you tank and will eat all dead things.

I figure as long as you dont have tons of them...leave them alone
they can be pulled out with twezzers never even touch them bare handed...

is it possible the your shrimp died for other reasons? and he was just cleaning up?

If it's a eunicid, it needs to be caught. There are thousands of species of bristleworms. Many are fine to have, some aren't.

I think I saw 4 tentacles on the head: eunicid. Bad 'un. I'm usually the champion of huge worms you find in your tank, but that's an exception. Get it out. Try a bit of shrimp in a wine carafe, tilted against the rock.

I don't think the shrimps were dead already, but I will never
know.
The question is if it's safe or not ?
And how can I catch it without breaking the rocks ?

he was hiding in a rock, so i took it out, tied a string around it and dunked it in a bucket of rodi water, he came out within seconds and i pulled the rock out with the string. I didnt want my hands near that thing.

Also, my tank is 9 month old, how can I got 1-2 feet worm in such short time ?
I guess i'll break my reeef and get that rock out so i can catch that damn worm...Evel...Evel I tell you.....
