Gig Help

So I finely found a gig and now I'm pretty sure it has a tiny tear in the foot. The mouth is tightly closed and its sticky as can be. Will it recover from that spot or is it doomed to a slow death. Would cipro treatment help? Or give it a shot straight to the DT. (I have no other gigs) I can post pics when I get it home.

If it looks good and no other gigs in the tank, u can try to go straight to DT.

If it gets sick, just pull him.

Put it in a glass bowl.

It went to qt just to be safe. I don't like that small tear spot. Is only about a pen tip spot but i want to be safe. This is the first gig i have ever ran across around here

Yeah, a pen tip is tiny and will unlikely become an issue.

However, going straight to the QT is smart.

Good luck!

Day one in Qt. It`s looking pretty good. No deflation and the mouth is tightly closed. I will keep it in Qt and using Cipro for the next few days just as a precaution of the couple little foot tears I think from removing it from the pot it was in. Best thing is it only cost me $74 including tax

Hey just a question but the spots on this one are blue not purple. Is this gigantea or mertans? In the DT yesterday it was a bright green color , in the qt its brownish

How long will it take for the tentacles to start getting longer and that shaggy look to them? That is what has drew me to looking for a gig for the last three years. Also how much longer should I leave it in QT and treat it for the small tear?

I would treat him until it healed but at least 5 days, and no deflation in QT for at least 3 days with no antibiotic.

Pic of the tear and it looks like its worse than it was before but the nem is still fully inflated and mouth closed tight. Should I be worried?
