Gig la

Keep in mind that sometimes white light can mask impurities in the water also it could have settled or adhered to the tank walls/bottom.

It was just the actinic lighting I think. Halides are on now and water is clear. Nem still looks really good. Mouth is still open about 1/8". So seems to be doing good. Expelled a string of goo and dead zooanthella about 2 inches long.

Try to remove the gooey stringy stuff and dead zooxanthellae with a turkey baster whenever you see any. Do not let it stay in the tank. As others said your goal is to keep the water as clean as possible. It looks promising in those last pictures :)

+1. If it keeps its "wavy" posture, I think this one will do just fine.

100% water change done. 250mg cipro added. Also removed the nem and cleaned everything before putting back in. Took about 10 min total. Mouth is closed now and looking good. Wavy appearance is there. No deflation since last night. Last night wasn't a pancake deflate, is was still somewhat inflated, but no wavy humps. The mouth was also gaped open about an inch. 3 hours after cipro introduction, it took shape back and mouth closed up to about a 1/4" and has stayed there ever since. It looks better now than it has since arrival. Don't think Im out of the woods yet. Im gonna continue cipro for at least 2 more days, and keep in QT for another couple days.

If he look grat, I just move him over once the treamtent finish. If there is any question observe him for a day without antibiotid.
I often just move him over with the cup, he will climp off od it once you have him in the DT in fairly short order.

Alrighty! Thanx so much. Without cipro and help from all the folks here this nem would have been a goner by now. He will have an awesome Picasso pair to keep him company in the tank! Thanks so much to everyone here, and I will keep updaying with pics throughout his treatment and life in the display.

All of the black "poo" came out in one shot right before water change. All of the snot looking stuff came from around the bottom of the foot. Sucked all out with a turkey baster when noticed. Just did 100% water change and added 250mg cipro. Lights are out headed into night 2. Still no deflates, although he wasn't happy when expelling the crap out, but perked right back up as soon as I sucked it out. As of now he is handling a lot more flow. Foot is attached good to the oversized coffee cup. Starting to hold himself up better and extend it foot. Will update again the AM with progress, but I believe things are going well. 24 hours no deflate, fingers crossed!

Using the display water it is going to get used to it a lot quicker. Which means you do not have to acclimate it to the DT water.

Been a couple hours since lights out and the nem is at its best so far! Foot has extended and picked itself up off the cup all the way. Doin good! wooohooo!

Oh man funny guy! lol Was under the impression too large of a water change at once could be bad. Oh well, main tank needed some extra love anyways!

It could be bad if your parameters are off on either the tank or the replacement water which causes too much of a swing (For example, some salt mixes have high Alk), but in general it's fine. I typically use tank water when I QT nems. I pull from 150 total volume in my anemone system.

The nem looks good in the last set of photos. Keep in mind that gigs can take up to a month before showing signs of sickness, so a few days is a drop in the bucket (just trying to level set here). That said, I do have a good feeling about this one. Good luck!
