Gig la

Tonight will be the 5th dose of cipro. Counting the change Wednesday morning. Hoping to continue with OrionN's suggestion of cipro till next week. The tank holds 10 gallons, and been adding 250mg every treatment. Should I try cutting the 250 in half? 125mg at treatment time?
 
I think your gig is still adjusting to treatment. It's interesting that your gig is releasing zoo but doesn't seem to be bleaching. When I mentioned light acclimation earlier it was with the school of thought that pounding the gig after shipment in darkness with MH lighting had an adverse affect on the animal. There are different schools of thought with regard to light acclimation, some say gigs are from shallow waters and can handle all the light you can give while others think you should slowly adjust the gig to your lights. I believe in the latter and have done it with my last 4 gigs along with zoo transplant and heavy feedings after put into display. Some people use a couple layers of screen and take off a layer every couple of days. I used a couple of sheets of xerox paper and took a piece off every three days, then into display where AI's were put to 50% and slowly ramped up over time. I think if you give less light while in treatment gig will reach up toward light and pick itself up off the cup. My experience with treatment is at day 5 the gig should be reaching up and turning the corner. As stated these are just my experiences. Hoping for continued improvement with your gig
 
Now for light acclimation...I am no expert and do not claim to be. With that said, im gonna think logically here. My little 150 MH isn't putting out nowhere near what this guy gets in the wild...that doesn't matter though. It was shipped from me from LA...I gotta think their lights are up to the job being it wanst bleached. It was shipped from them to me in about 15 hours...just over a typical lights out cycle. I cant imagine my 150w mh is anything but not enough. I am leaning toward water quality being an issue atm...24 hours between changes may not be adequate this treatment phase with only 10 gallons. Water isn't cloudy, but with yesterdays partial it perked right back up....been that way for about an hour now.
 
This is my thought as well worm. One at lights out and do another at lights on. Do you think I should forgo the cipro during lights on?
 
You should have plenty Cipro on hand. I would do water change with deflation ad add med. if it is late afternoon. I just don't turn the light on and don't change that night
 
So bad dad, slept in for an xtra hour today, lights came on an hour late. Nem was deflated quite a bit before the lights came on. Once lights on he is inflating slowly and picking his self up. I raised the lights up a little, 4 or 5 inches. Will see how to day goes. RO ran all night to refill my FSW barrel. Will be a few hours before salt is mixed good an temp is up. Hoping he stays good all day...but im not holding my breath.
 
Looking spectacular today! Maybe there is something to the lights. I apologize for my previous post. It could be the meds are doing there job. I know its early in the day, but the nem is looking great! I raised the light fixture to 24" above the water. Nem is fully inflated and raised off the cup showing his foot. Seems to be getting bigger by the minute. If it completely spreads out, it will be around 6 to 7 inches across. Beautiful! Lets hope he stays there all day!
 
Purging a lot of junk today, but its not black. Its a reddish brown color and he has pooped a lot of it. Seems to be looking better every time it purges.

That's encouraging. Sounds more like normal waste instead of dead zoox. Keep up the good work.
 
Thanx DNak! Looking great! Moving with the current, holding up. A million times better than delivery day. Finally was ablt to get the original photo uploaded to photobucket.
