Can you do one with ZERO flow. I am curious how its tentacles and body movement are. Then put it back to normal after the video.

It moves independently when the flow is off. Tentacles look like little fingers moving around. Will try to post a better vid later. Gonna have to do a water change, just deflated down with its mouth slammed shut, so assuming it isn't happy with the water quality atm. Saltwater is mixing though....

So, I have a theory. It seems my nem is not really deflating. It looks more like a stomach cramp. It doesn't flatten out and go limp, it crinkles up for less than an hour, then re-expands and expels a pile of crap. I am thinking this is a reaction to the meds helping loosen the junk and this is the reflex to push it out. Nem is currently on its way back to full inflation and looking great again with out an emergency water change. It has been interesting the past couple days because I can observe the nem all day. All I have is time and I set the HT right were I can see it all day. I feel like I need to relax and keep on keepin on. Its mouth is never gaping open. Just slightly. When it contracts down the mouth is slammed shut tight.

Right, this is what I was explaining in post #79:

It's definitely deflating, just not in the way that we associate with a nem being very sick... All tentacles fully deflated, body limp, etc.

Exactly! I have read that post about 20 times, but can never get it to sink in. And yes it doesn't go pancake flate, Tentacles are inflated, mouth is shut down tight, but retracted in on itself. Lasted about 45 min maybe. Every time it does this it comes back looking better than it did previously. In the pic when I first got it, still in the bag, you can see the black nastiness in it. I could almost pick out the exact pieces from the pic when I sucked them out lol. I think I am nearing the end now. Expulsions are not black, and their is very little coming out now. Water change and cipro tonight hopefully finishes the job and he can go in with his clowns next week!

Thought it was a 20...Holds 10 gallons

Soooo....nem decided to deflate and gape its mouth open about an inch so. Water change complete, new cipro added, lights out.

Its a Gigantamag! Evidentally the WC wasn't a big hit lol Grumpy Grumpy

Frof.pauley, Sorry I was out with my kids today. Here it is:

Looking like it's getting better. Glad you tried adjusting the lights. Gigs are so temperamental, hope progress continues

So I am thinking of doing a 100% Wc, cleaning everything, and putting the bio filter back. No cipro. I dunno seems after 6 doses of cipro it would stay inflated for 24 hours. Its not expelling junk out of its mouth that I can see and the mouth was closed good this morning. Its slightly open now. Staying about 50% inflated. I did have to suck stringy crap from around the base this morning. It seems whenever I do a WC, he perks back up great. Still leaning towards WQ issue in the HT. Ammonia rising fast but water doesn't cloud. API Ammonia test are so unreliable! Always shows Ammonia on the chart!
