Gigantea Help?!

I have had a large purple gigantea for quite some time. Starting approximately a week ago it detached its foot. Since then I've moved it to several locations. Its mouth is tightly closed and it is open and not shriveled, it just won't attach its foot. At approximately the same time that it detached I had a temp swing from 79 down to 76. Would this have affected it? My other carpet has done the same thing (detached but fully open & mouth closed).

Tank info:
375g + 120g fuge. AI Leds. Reeflo Orca 200 Skimmer + Pro Cup. Running carbon in a reactor. Also have poly filter in place.

Current parameters are:
Temp 79 degrees
Salinity 1.026
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 15
Nitrite 0
pH 8
Calcium 460
Alkalinity 9
Phosphates 0

Is there anything that I can do to help them out? I plan to do a water change tomorrow but I am doubting that the 15 nitrates is causing this. Any help would be appreciated!!!

How long is "quite some time"?

Is the other carpet a gigantea?

Did you add anything else recently, especially other types of anemones?

Both anemones are S. Gigantea. I have had this anemone for approximately 10 months. The other anemone I have had for 2 months. The only thing that was recently added was a zoanthid rock on the other side of the tank which should have no affect on the carpets.

I'm not sure why it's happening, of course, but if you are not using GAC, I'd add some, or change it, in case it is a chemical warfare issue of some sort.

I just changed my carbon in my reactor recently thinking the same thing but it has not appeared to help. Hopefully a water change will perk them up.

Did you change the type of salt or buy a new bucket recently? Sometimes carpets can be sensitive to different salt mixes.

I use NSW so it isn't that.

I did start dosing the 2 part B Ionic recently though. Would they react negatively to a small uptick in calcium & alkalinity?

(calcium from 400 to 420ish and alk from 8 to 9 or 10 dkh?)

I tend to think that is not the difference, but I suppose it might be. I've not noticed mine respond to alk or pH changes, although I do not cosely monitor alkalinity.
