Day 15 now. I'll start off by apologizing.. Afraid I don't have any pictures for this update on account that I ended up spending all day yesterday on working on the tank room, and didn't end up having any time for pictures. And because yesterday was all about the plumbing, today was a catch up day for other chores. Seems to me a good project manager should always double the estimates, double them again, and maybe double them again for good measure. What should have taken perhaps a more competent plumber maybe only about 4 hours took me 12 and no fewer than 4 trips back to Home Depot! Urg. But on the bright side, my tank room now has plumbing.
Anyhow, the real acid test for me this last week was that I was away from home for 4 days cavorting lakeside, as one might be want to do come the hot days of summer.
Came home to find the blue carpet has moved, to a spot that unfortunately I can see it liking a lot, but not me so much (although it's better than cozied up to the ritteri). It's just that it's right in the back of the tank which is going to make photo ops really hard. At any rate, I remind myself that the tank it's in is temporary and within a few weeks hopefully, I'll have a new tank running which will open up different options.
Strangely the purple, which I had thought originally had at best a 50/50 chance, is doing really well. Eats mysis unassisted and is just generally looking better and better every day. The blue is sticky, but doesn't really eat unassisted (ie., it will eat if the food is placed right in the mouth - but anywhere else it just eventually lets go). This does worry me a little.
I'll try to have some updated pictures soon. At least the purple will be easy to photograph. I might have to resort to top-downs for the blue.
