Giganteas Touching?

I have two gigantea carpets. One of them was just introduced yesterday (beautiful one from a LFS that I just couldnt pass up). Is it okay if they are in close proximity to each other and possibly touch? I know for sure they are both gigantea.

A couple photos of them just for fun :)

From what I know they can touch all they want. Many S. GIGS live in huge fields basically in the ocean together with zero issues. So I don't think you should see any problems at all

I wouldn't worry about two healthy, well established, giganteas touching. I wouldn't want a newly introduced gigantea right next to my healthy, well established one though. Newly imported anemones may have infections or ailments that may be able to infect the healthy one.

Do you have images of these "huge fields" of gigantea?

Id have to find the photos of it. But there was a large field that someone showed of them in the ocean. It was on here I seen it under this section... hmm I will take a look around

EDIT: I found the post. But it was actually Mag carpets, not gigs like I thought it was orig. Either way, this was a amazing video and look it about 1:05 into the video it starts showing a full landscape view of everything

You can find huge fields of H. magnifica or E. quadricolor, because they reproduce asexually. I am not aware of anyone finding huge fields of any of the other clown anemones because they only reproduce sexually, or else reproduce asexually only very rarely. (I think this was the point Elegance was getting to)

Back to the subject of the thread...

I am not aware of trouble with two giganteas touching. In fact, I am not aware of trouble with giganteas touching haddonis.

I would have to agree with EC though, I have seen one anemone infect a whole tank of anemones and they all die. I think I would try and QT for a few weeks at least.
