Give me some of your DIY advise...

Alright here's the deal, when i set the tank up my wife bought me the cheap $30 stand from walmart to get the going. Had i done my research ahead of time i would have built one from the get-go. But now i am plagued with this horrible stand that shows everything( i.e. cords and chemicals). Is there anyway i can "mod" this thing or should i just build a whole new stand and swap them out. I'm looking for the easiest and safest route possible. Thanks in advance.

just build a skirt for it! nothing fancy just three pieces of wood and a door in the front! its easy and cheap

You could use magnets to hold the wood on if it is metal or you can use some Velcro. Both work great and easy to remove if need.

or you can do like ninjafish and get some eggcrate and paint it black and use magnets to hold it to your stand.
