Glass for free -

1st - I know nothing about glass - tempered vs. non-tempered, cutting, etc...

We are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom shower and have the glass door and a glass 1/2 wall that we are replacing.

Could somebody use this to make sump baffles from? Seems like the thickness would be fine, just don't know the rest -

HAHA! I would bet it is tempered being its use in a shower door and wall. most likely 1/4-3/8" thickness.

Is that a good or bad thing for using for baffles?

I would think it could be used, but not sure about cutting tempered glass.

you could cut it, but your straight line might turn inot a million little pieces pretty quick...

Cheng, you need to go to a glass shop. I use a little place in South Pittsburg that does it for me. they drill and cut.

btw. if anyone wants some 1/2" glass, I have some of that as well .

Glass cages in Dickson will cut you anything you need . They cut a bunch of glass really cheap for me. And if you need glass hole saw bits I got a 42 mm and a 60 mm . But glass cages has done me real well

as far as glass goes i have tons here in my shop that others are welcomed to...i dont live too far from glass cages either....just email me....also though i can cut the glass but can never get it the correct size lol unless ya were here and we worked together....just pm me

I remember when I started keeping aquariums everyone said that if you used a bucket or whatever that had ever been washed in soap for aquarium water that your fish would instantly die. My little brother decided my ciclids needed a bath one time and put a bunch of shampoo in the tank. I came home and saw a massive bubble dome on top of the tank but the fish were all acting normally. Put that myth to rest.
