Glass shop in New Tampa, Brandon, Wesley Chapel area?

Any recommendations for a glass shop near those areas? Really don't want to travel too far for a few pieces of glass. I'm looking to buy glass and to get it cut for a sump I'm building. Lowes and Home Depot only have really thin glass panels for sale and I've read around that the sump baffles should be thicker, like 3/4 inch.

Thanks!

I used Crystal Glass and Mirror in Palm Harbor. I know it's a far drive, but they only charged me $20 for 5 pieces of glass cut with the edges polished.

And you definitely don't need 3/4" glass for your baffles. That thing would be an absolute beast. I'm assuming you meant 1/4", that's what my baffles are.

Also, stay away from acrylic unless your sump is acrylic. The bond between acrylic and glass isn't permanent from what I've read. When you make your sump be sure to use the correct caulking. Some will fail after time and others will leach chemicals into your system.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I suppose a drive out to palm harbor would be worth it, especially since I will be driving right by FAOIS and Coral Corral :)

You got me worried now, I'm using glass from Lowes. I did some reading and from what I gathered they say it's fine unless you bump into it. But for the price I'm not complaining, $6 for a 12" by 36" and they do all the cutting for free.

All Phase Glass and Mirror quoted me $5 per glass section which wasn't too bad.

My first sump used the glass from HD which was 1/16th, you should be fine if it's just for the baffles EgKid.

Yeah I read plenty of threads from people who used 1/16" glass. I overbuild everything just to be on the safe side.

For me, the price difference between the 1/16" and the 1/4" was little enough that it made sense to play it safe and get the thicker stuff.

No, I completely agree. I'd always use 1/4" over 1/16, just pointing out that if he's already got the 1/16th siliconed in he'll be okay.
