Glass thickness

I am working on a new project for work. I have been asked to put in a tank in our preschool wing at church by some sr adults who provided the funds!

It will be between 72" and 84" inches long by 24" wide and 24-30" high. The church is about 10 minutes from Glass Cages so they seem to be a natural choice. The have two versions one with around 1/2" glass and the other with 3/4" called an industrial tank.

Which do you think would be appropriate?

For preschoolers, I would recommend using acrylic over glass. I am a big glass fan too, but for safety would go the acrylic route.

3/4" glass is pretty tough but I'm not sure either would stand up to an errant baseball bat.

And if you want glass, definitely go with the 3/4"

My first choice would also be acrylic. Just too many risks with the glass and little kids. But if you have to go with the glass it needs to be the 3/4" industrial-no questions asked.
