So here is the situation. Couple years ago I started finishing the basement and got about 80% done when the marriage started going down hill. So all worked stopped on it. Well almost a year after the divorce its time to get back to business. I got the house
1st on the list, finish the basement and remodel the kitchen. Cabinets in the kitchen are water damaged very bad from, hmmm, lets call it the learning curve of reef tanking . Well if we are gonna remodel, time for the big tank to go in, it just makes sense. So here we are, kitchen project bidded including building the drywall stand with matching granite top for the stand.
Basement finishing has to be on hold, as plumping to the fish room is gonna take some removing draywall from the ceiling and also to run additional electric.
So here is the equipment list:
Tank: 96 X 37.5 X 30.5 3 side starfire glass Weight is only 150 pounds more than acrylic and price is much less. Getting a great price from Glasscages.com and can drive to check the quality of work prior to shipping. Very much still getting quotes on this and deciding on glass vs. acrylic.
SumpEcosystem 4822 Sump 60 pounds of Miricle Mud Used ecosystem in the past and had a lot of luck Ordered
Refugium My old Oceanic 75G tank will be filled with live rock and grow macro algae, pods, and snails, any other other critters that can be fed to DT.
Lighting 4X LED systems Leaning toward EcoTech XR30w
Water movement 2X ecotech MP60s plus my old Tunzes and controller
Controller Apex Aqua
Skimmer TBD still looking
Return pump Reeflo Hammerhead Gold
Chiller I have a 1/4 horse power chiller from my old tank hoping it still works and is enough with the LED lighting.
Water Tank 75 gallon plastic tank to hold salt water on constent mix
RO/DI Already have a Spectrapure
ATO not sure yet
Edit:
Calcium Reactor Old Korallin should work for some time until the load gets to much then a 2nd one will be added
Reactor One of those Bio reactors but still researching of they mix well with ecosystem.
Dosing Reef complete on a dosing pump
Pictures to follow of tank design and room layout.
Goal: Have tank up and running by Jan 1, 2013.
Heres to dreams coming true! Kitched tear out expected to start in next 2 weeks.
