I've used waterweld in the past but these days I typically just buy the stuff made for reef use (recently have gone through a few sticks of Instant Ocean's product). It's usually not much different in price on a per ounce basis (~$9 for 4 oz of the IO stuff vs $4 for 2oz of waterweld).
I've never had problems with waterweld but many of these putties made for plumbing use do have metal in them. The MSDS for waterweld doesn't list specific ingredients in the same way some other brands do so it's hard to know 100% for sure.
Are the rocks already in the tank or are they dry, i used portland cement and sand, it worked great but i let it cure for a day or 2 outside of the tank before i put it in.
they are in the system.i have a few smaller pieces that i want to use to make an arch with.i think i can get them to lock together but i want to make shure .anyone ever try hydralic cement?
I have found that glueing wet rocks doesn't work well and if it does will not last. There are a few ways to glue together dry rock. Some of them are very toxic for us to breath as I found out the hard way and once landed myself in the hospital. If you can lock them together just stack them up. Gravity is the only glue that never fails.
I've heard the epoxy stuff can make your skimmer go nuts. I think there are certain types of mortar you can buy from HD/Lowes that is potable and works for creating rock structures.
