Steve, Give Maurice Bullock an email letting you know that you are in town. He is the President of SDMAS and came up the WMC and he'll be more than thrilled to help a NorCal reefer.

ok so here's the low down on all the places..

>Aquatic Warehouse
AWESOME: I've never been to a wholesaler but if it's anything like this WOW. Now there were alot of dead fish but they had hundereds of tanks so...
Biggest selection I've ever seen in one place.
Prices very high.
Service, spot on.

>Clams Direct
Either went out of business or just locked doors, changed phone number, and dosen't respond to VM's left on Answering machine.
was not impressed.

Octopus Garden
Had to call for address, but VERY worth checking out
#2 in my vote, out of these stores listed.

>Pet Kingdom
Very large place that had all types of animals and their SW/Reef selection was pretty good but again with the very high prices. I liked this one alot too.
Although Service was crap, I
asked about salifert test kits and the young girl behind the counter responded "I have no idea what you are talking about." and then just stared at me.
so I asked where the test kits were and got at least something helpful "they are on an isle end cap somewhere"

>Brilliant Reefs
Pretty small place compared to the others. Not a very good selection, not very good service, if you missed this place you should not loose sleep over it.

That's my summary..

Ok now for the depressing part.. I have been looking for TRUE Black Prec for sometime now. I found them at Aquatic Warehouse they had like 30 of them but they refuse to ship livestock, and Southwest Airlines said there was no way I could cary a fish on board or even check it in my baggage. they said no way no how.

So I had to leave my poor little creatues there.
:(

I was in there a few years ago, and they had true tank raised A. nigripes clowns. Luckily I haddriven down for a conference so they made the ride home with me.

Aquatic Warehouse usually has a ton of fish & corals, but I'm sad to hear about all the floaters. What I really like is all the plumbing supplies they carry.

Yes they are a true (warehouse).
I would get fish from them but a dip, and QT is very much needed when buying from them.
