Golan's 90G Reef

Well.. I finally fixed my bubble problem with the closed loop - it was that Priming Tower that was recommended - it just didnt work for me - i had teflon on the connection for the cap and the nipple and i was still getting microbubbles like nobody's business. I know it worked for others - not sure why it didnt for me. I just did a 180 degree elbow to flex hose.

Anyways..the priming tower is not that necessary...all you need to do is pump some water into the flex tubing before plumbing the intake - then just turn the pump on - working well now :)

well...if you dont have blasts of micro bubbles - why mess with it?
If you do have it - build another intake elbow (really cheap) - and see it it's better

Was that priming tower really the culprit??!! If that's the case, I'm gonna get rid of mine too!!!

Updated pic with closed loop installed. I plumbed it to the 3/4" seaswirl and got a u-tube for the return...the only thing that is really visible is the intake on the left which will soon be covered with coralline.

now it looks all empty ;) Want some GSP or more yellow polyps?? :D

Seriously, I really like that clean black background...the sps will definitely standout against the black.

dude i love your aquascape i like how it looks like the edge of the reef i hate tanks that are overcrowded with sps....plus that opens you up to some extra species that need swiming room or some cool sand sifters like a horshoe crab

thanks :)

Looks good Golan, but empty without your leather buddy!

a year from now, it will be filled in with your sps, and that cap will whorl out cool on the edge like that.

Sheriff has settled in well into my tank, although he is in shadow of my giant toadstool leather. JenDub still has yet to make it to get a frag. I'll get some pics soon.

oh, my bad! I saw the name in your galery pics!
all my fish and some inverts have names, but none of my corals have names.

Perhaps, when leathers achieve such a large display size, they are worthy of a name?
I think 'Sheriff' fits the large blushing leather quite well!

Congrats again on the latest chapter in your Reefing Odyssey!

My yellow tang recently died and i traded in my royal gramma and the six line wrasse. I have added a copperband butterfly, a powder blue, and a flame angel. I wanted to add bigger size fish with more vivid colors...its incredible how much color and variety these new fish added.
Here are some pics.

Copperband update...he ate a few mysis shrimp yesterday!!!
I'm so glad he did...i was getting worried he wouldn't eat frozen food.
So all and all, it took 2 weeks for him to take the food.

PS. He LOVES live blood worms too.
