Gold Teardrop Maxima. Pic

First things first.

This is a gold teardrop maxima right?? I am not much of a clam guy, except for the ones I have (Derassa and Gigas).

I got this Gold Teardrop Maxima at an LFS yesterday. I just found this LFS, it sells all corals and clams for $35!! That is a good deal.

This clam measures about 2 1/2 inches and I really like the color on it. I think it will get a little more striking after a few months in better water quality/lighting as well. I set it on a peice of dry LR rubble I have in a bucket for this type of thing, I understand it can attach quite firmly to the rocks and I may need to move it at one point so I did not want it on a big rock.

Is there anything I should know?

heres mine. i love clams. im picking up a 175w 15k XM haylide pendant today. ill have a pic of all of my clams once its up and running.

ohh, mine LOVES to hop around. hes on a rock now and has stayed put for for a few days. enjoy ur clam, hes cool

I love teardrop!! and at 35 bucks, it's a steal!!
you should feed it some phyto until it grows a bit more.

i got an 8" teardrop on ebay for $60 shipped.....I was afraid it wasn't going to be the real deal when I got it....but it was and it actually looked better in person than in the pics

8 months later he has grown another inch and is rockin' along

I have a nice blue green crocea and squamie also in the refugium (100 gallon refugium) to help filter phoshpates and nitrates. They are under a 250w mh 10k and a 175w mh 13k

------again....pics! maximas are a 10-12 inchers? im guessing.
