I'm on 7 months with a pink Aussie goniopora, so far so good. They do need to be fed. I usually feed Rods every day & only feed the corals once a week or every other & it's fine so far.
View attachment 295025this is what it looks like. It does this everyday and it comes out a bit more at night.
But how long have people been able to keep their Goniopora alive? Is there anyone who can claim 5 years? Even 2 years?
Uhm, I don't understand why people are saying it's dead. It isn't.. It has been spreading its tentacles since day 2. Just like every coral I've gotten, it hid its polyps for a day then took them out. The only coral that hasn't done this has been the toadstool leather. That one was fine minutes after I placed it in. Anyhow, update in the Goni/flower pot: as far as I know it's doing great. It sticks its polyps out mostly during the night/low lighting. Yup...
I thought they required medium flow and lighting.

I push them to the limit for sure. I think the higher flow and lighting is helping them constantly be fed. I am at 90% currently on my MP's and most of the fish are having a real hard time swimming lol.
I'm fairly new to the hobby, but I've had this guy for about 2 years:

Started off as a frag with 4-5 polyps. It's got about 40 polyps now.
I would not blast it with flow. Read the article I posted above. different species require different condition. In general larger polyps Goniopora require low flow while smaller polyps Goniopora require higher flow.Start blasting it with flow IMO. I have 3 MP40s in a BB 100g tank and the more I turn them up, the better the PE. I also have them directly under some serious light including 250w radiums.
