Gonzo yellow sunburst bta

So a friend of mine and myself had a great opportunity to purchase an authentic Gonzo yellow sunburst BTA. I know there are many "sunburst" BTA's lingering around that are really just a rainbow rose. I've owned one in the past and all I can say is Gonzo's is truly an amazing anemone. It resembles a lemon drop almost, minus the red foot. We decided to cut it in half, it was about 4". I've been told these nems don't survive well after being cut. I'll try and post an update weekly showing the progress. I'm excited to see this guy in full color within the next few months assuming he makes it. I currently have him in an acclimation box which he decided last night he wanted to exit out of so I had to make sure the top of the box was out of water to ensure he doesn't leave. I have high flow in my tank for the gigs so right now he wouldn't do so well. I'm hoping in a couple weeks he will be good to go in.

Nice pick up. The Gonzo sunburst is one of my favorite color morphs.

Thanks I hope he survives the cut. I did a annual cleaning last night for all my equipment and sump plus a 20% water change. Tank looks great now but I do wish I can go back and not add all the sand I did.

Some more pics from last night. It's difficult to take pics during day since he is so high up from being in the acclimation box. He's doing much better and has since covered his wound and starting to heal quickly.

Finally can get a daylight photo. I was surprised that the yellow appeared and wasn't washed out looking with the daylights on. I hope this guy likes light since I'll be changing over to MH/T5 combo within a couple weeks.
